Colonial Treasures and Puerto Vallarta

Departures to San Miguel de Allende on Wednesdays, Pax must be arriving at least two days before.


Day 01. (MON) ARRIVAL TRANSFER

Welcome at the Mexico City's “Benito Juarez” international airport, transfer to the hotel of your choice and accommodation.

DAY 02. (TUE) MEXICO CITY

Breakfast. We will start our city tour visiting the Cultural and Historic Heritage downtown district where we will find the National Palace and its beautiful murals painted by the great muralist Diego Rivera, the constitution square or "Zocalo", the Main Aztec Temple and the Metropolitan Cathedral as well as some of the main avenues. Later, we will visit Chapultepec Park and one of the most important Residential areas of Mexico City, and the "Pink Zone". Overnight.

        

DAY 03 (WED) MEXICO DF. - QUERETARO - SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

Breakfast. Departure to Querétaro where we will visit the Aqueduct, the Ex-Cross Convent and Historic Downtown. Head to San Miguel de Allende, where many intellectuals and retired people live in. Visit: San Miguel’s Parish with the Holy House Chapel, the San Francisco church and the Allende´s house. You may enjoy a great variety of cafeterias and restaurants.

Overnight.

DAY 04. (THU) SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE - DOLORES HIDALGO-GUANAJUATO

Breakfast. Departure to Dolores Hidalgo, where in 1810, the father Don Miguel Hidalgo, began the Independence war. Also José Alfredo Jimenez, one of the most famous musician composers, was born there. Continuation to Guanajuato, where year after year is home of the International Cervantino Festival. In the afternoon you will enjoy knowing this fabulous city, full of beautiful colonial alleys and plazas such as the University, the Juarez Thea-ter, The Kiss Alley, the house -museum of Diego Rivera. Its streets and sub-terranean avenues are unique in the country. An optional activity is partici-pating in the traditional Callejoneada or visit the Museum of Don Quixote, and the Guanajuato Mummies Museum. Overnight.

        

DAY 05. (FRI) GUANAJUATO-ZACATECAS

Breakfast. Departure to Zacatecas, a World Heritage Site. This beautiful colonial city of "pink cantera” has the most outstanding Mexican baroque style, the Cathedral. From "La Bufa" Hill you will be able to appreciate an interesting panoramic view of the city. We will descend in funicular and af-terwards an educational visit of the mine of Eden. An optional activity is visit the Museum Rafael and Pedro Coronel and Francisco Goitia. Overnight.

DAY 06. (SAT) ZACATECAS-GUADALAJARA

Breakfast. We will continue on to Guadalajara the capital of state of Jalisco, where tequila and mariachi were born. We will visit Tlaquepaque, in this place the Sergio Bustamante Gallery. Possibility to eat at one of the local restaurants accompanied by a mariachi. Overnight.

         

DAY 07. (SUN) GUADALAJARA-TEQUILA

Breakfast. During the morning we will visit the city where we will find the Degollado Theater, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Plaza Tapatia. Continue to magic town "Tequila", agave land. We will visit a distillery where we can learn the process of different kinds of tequila in the area. Return to Guadalajara. Overnight.

DAY 08. (MON) GUADALAJARA—PUERTO VALLARTA

Transfer to the Bus Station to take your first class bus service to Puerto Vallarta. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Overnight.

        

DAY 09. (TUE) PUERTO VALLARTA

Breakfast. Free day to enjoy this paradise

DAY 10. (WED) DEPARTURE TRANSFER - END OF SERVICES

Breakfast. At the time indicated, transfer to the airport to board your return flight home.
