Oaxaca, Millenial Tradition

This tour will take us to meet three emblematic attractions in Oaxaca State. Begin this excursion, meeting “El Tule” catalogue as the widest tree in the world; this “ahuehuete” has an age of 2,000 years, its shadow could cover 500 persons and in its bark can be seen estrange figures but the local guides will help us to find them and to know the history of this spectacular three.
Our second stop is in Teotitlan del Valle. This zapotec community is famous for its rugs, bags and sarapes of lamb's wool, which are stained with natural pigments, including the use of cochineal. The elaboration process of one of these products can take weeks or months, reason why they are much appreciated.
The last stop is in a “Palenque”, a place where the mezcal is produced. The “mezcal” is a drink with oaxacan origin, is internationally recognized for its body, color and odor. In this palenque we will learn about how to taste it and the elaboration process.
