The Wine Route at Guadalupe Valley from Ensenada, Baja California

This wonderful tour is not to be missed! Your first stop will be at Bodegas Santo Tomas, considered the oldest and most important winery in Baja California. Their history dates back to 1791 when the Catholic priests find very difficult to import the wine, they decided to start growing their own vines. Since then, this property has been producing wine and nowadays they have more than 40 labels of excellent wine, olive oil, and chocolates. Be ready not only to admire the impressive winery but also the beautiful landscape. Enjoy a tasting of some of their wonderful wines. You will have the opportunity to purchase a bottle to take.

Then you will head to a boutique winery, Misiones de California. They are pretty new in the wine production, all their grapes are grown on their land and to produce the wines they exclusively use those grapes, so their wines are top quality. Admire their adobe architecture, which resembles the Missions from the old days. You will have a full and personal experience since you will meet the oenologist in charge who happens to be the owner of this magnificent place! Again, you will enjoy a sample tasting of the wines they offer along with the chance to purchase a bottle of your favorite.

After, you will have the opportunity to visit Alximia Winery, a family project with more than 10 years of experience in the boutique winemaking business, working with the elements of nature: earth, water, fire, and air, framed in a unique contemporary structure. They own their vineyards and are managed environmentally to produce top quality boutique wines. At the end of your visit, you will have time to explore their boutique or you can visit their restaurant "La X" for some appetizers.

Your next stop will be Sol y Barro boutique winery. This is a small winery owned by a Swiss-Mexican family that loves making great wines. Enjoy your surrounding and their unique medieval architecture. The winery will offer sample tastings for you to enjoy.

Then, you'll visit The Wine Museum founded in 2012 where you will learn about the history of the wine in Baja and about the wine world. The museum has various exhibitions, a cellar, a souvenir store, and a coffee shop. This is an amazing spot to take pictures surrounded by vineyards.
