Magical Towns of Puebla (Zacatlan & Chignahuapan) from Mexico City

We will depart with our destination to Noth of Puebla to know the special Magic Town of Chignahuapan famous for making Christmas balls.

We will visit an artisanal and family workshop dedicated to making spheres, where for decades they have made blown glass spheres painted by hand. They will tell us about the process of making these crafts, which have reached the Vatican to adorn the Chapel of Saint Peter in Italy. Have you ever imagined decorating a sphere? When the time has come, we will decorate our sphere to take it home to decorate your Christmas tree.

We continue to the center of Chignahuapan where the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception is located, it protects the image carved in wood with a height of 12 meters and is considered the largest religious sculpture in Latin America indoors. Also, another picturesque attraction is the Moorish Kiosk that adorns the main square.
We leave for Zacatlán Magic Town, getting to know the fruit wine factory, where they will explain the production process and you can taste them. We will visit the Zacatlán tile and glass mural, unique in Mexico; Composed of thousands of pieces of glass, Talavera, and mirrors, the mural draws 12 large mosaics in the shape of an apple, and each of them displays symbols that characterize Zacatlán and that have contributed to the greatness of its people. Magical Towns of Hidalgo, Prism, Real del Monte & Pachuca from Mexico City

We will depart with our destination to Hidalgo State where the majestic basaltic prisms are found; One of the natural wonders of Mexico which are natural columns of stone with 5 or 6 sides that were formed because of the quick cooling of volcanic wash. These rock formations can be found only in 3 different places of the world; Hawaii underwater, the north of Ireland, and of course in Mexico where we are going today; during our visit, we will walk over a pending bridge that gives a spectacular view of the Basaltic prisms and the waterfall that covers them.

We will continue to Real del Monte considered a “Magical Town” because still preserves its English style due to the mining legacy; there, we are visiting the English Pantheon and an old mine (if possible).
Once in Real del Monte, we cannot miss the chance of tasting the “PASTES” a traditional patty stuffed with different stews; its name comes from English “pasty”, this British snack was introduced to the Hidalgo Gastronomy and nowadays is a traditional meal of Real del Monte and Pachuca (Capital City of the state of hidalgo).

The PASTE was introduced to Hidalgo State at the same time as mining and soccer which was the favorite game of the engineers and contractors of Cornwall, England who worked in the mines during the XIX century. We will know the whole history while we make our paste by visiting the paste Museum.

Before we go back, we will cross Pachuca which is best known as the beautiful windy City (“La Bella Airosa”) because from June to October the wind gets a speed of 75 km/hr. We will depart with our destination to Toluca (Capital City of Mexico State) where we will visit the botanic garden with its Cosmovitral (from the Spanish words “cosmo” meaning “universe” and “Vitral” meaning “stained glass”); this garden was built in the middle of the past Century occupying an Art Nouveau Building that was used as the local market “Mercado 16 de September”, inside we will admire the monumental stained glass well decorated with glass mosaics representing the human race and the universe, also we will appreciate more than 400 species of plants from worldwide.

Before leaving Toluca, don’t miss the chance to taste a Delicious “Torta” (Mexican sandwich) that is one of the traditional snacks made with “chorizo” (sausage) in red or green color, this chorizo is made with pork, local peppers, ginger, chili, and vinegar; we suggest to get a Torta at “La Vaquita Negra” located in the main square of Toluca.
Later, we will visit Metepec; a “Magical Town” well known because of its handicrafts makers who make beautiful pieces of clay, jars, pots, plates, and the most representative Tree of life or the Catrina’s that nowadays are emblematic of Metepec.

A workshop will be visited, owned by the family who created the Tree of life, in this place you will be able to make your handicraft of clay using molds and follow the process step by step under the supervision of an expert craftsman. Free time to have lunch (not included) or enjoy Metepec.

We suggest tasting the Local Drink “La Garañona” which is typical of Metepec and consider taking your photo with “Tlanchana” (a mermaid statue) located by the kiosk.

Combi City Tour: The Legends in Mexico City

We will begin our panoramic tour by visiting the nurseries of Coyocan declared a national park, it started in the 20th century with the effort of the engineer Miguel Ángel de Quevedo, which currently consists of 39 hectares where different types of plants are grown. Then we will continue along the “old royal road” that communicates San Ángel and Coyocan neighborhoods, today this road is one of the most representative avenues named "Francisco Sosa" where picturesque houses of colonial architecture are located including the house of Jesus Reyes Heroles; in this house (according to the legend) a Little blonde girl “appears” and plays all night long in the courtyard.
